Guided Rides and Activities

****   Please note that we are monitoring things related to the impact from Hurricane Helene.  If needed we will substitute out rides based on road and area conditions as we get closer to the date.

FRIDAY  RIDES

American Museum of Science and Energy (AMSE)

Not so much a ride, but a visit to a local historic venue- the American Museaum of Science and Energy.  The AMSE tells the story of the advances in science and engineering that have occurred in Oak Ridge since the first days of the Manhattan Project.

Wheels Through Time Museum

Tail of the Dragon

This ride will visit the well known museum.  The Wheels Through Time Museum is the home of the worlds premier collection of rare American motorcycles, memorabalia, and some unique "one off" American automobiles.  Over 300 machines from ALL eras!

This ride will take on the Dragon heading to Deals Gap.  This will be a scenic ride through the beautiful Smoky Mountains; not for the faint of heart--  there are 318 curves in 11 miles!  PLEASE NOTE- if you CAN'T MAINTAIN YOUR LANE ON A CURVY ROAD, this ride would NOT be recommended for you!  There are many accidents on this road every year, some fatalities.  Please don't become a statistic and contribute to the "Tree of Shame" which is adorned with pieces of wrecked bikes from over the years.

SATURDAY  RIDES

Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary

This will be a fairly local ride visiting the Prison.  Lunch is available at the Warden's Table restaurant on-site.  Brushy was an infamous maximum security prison, once known as the "end of the line".  It is now open for tours.

Foothills Parkway

Cherohala Skyway

This ride will venture to the Foothills Parkway, a national parkway which traverses the foothills of the Great Smoky Mountains in East Tennessee.  We will have a stop for lunch in Maryville or Pigeon Forge.

We will ride to the Cherohala Skyway, a 43 mile National Scenice Byway from Tellico Plains, TN to Robbinsville, NC.  The Skyway provides ridge after ridge of sweeping forested mountain views, scenic overlooks around every corner.  Some call it the "best kept secret".  Join us and experience it for yourself.  We will have a stop for lunch along the way.
